The Day I Met You

Tears rained from heaven, the day I met you,
It seemed logically impossible when you said you love me too.

It seemed God's tears never ceased,
When my heartfelt emotions were released.

He"s never seen such beautiful love,
Such beautiful love fall from the angel's wings above.

You took my hand and sang such a beautiful hymn,
Of love never to cease till the end.

I don't know where to begin,
The memory lingers over me, again and again.

But God said He'd give you wings, when this September evening you leave,
I gave into hope and never will I believe.

Even as I sleep and fall into such beautiful dreams,
I weep cause you are there it seems.

Watching over me as I weep for you,
What can I do to retrieve you?

You hum that lovely melody when we met so long ago,
I can feel the warmth of the hymn sinking into my sheets, time is slow.

You calmed me last night though I drifted away,
I'll see you in heaven where the blossoms grow, I'll see you my dear and there'll be nothing to say.
