Unwanted war

by Raye   Apr 10, 2007

I am a soldier from the US,
so far away.
I see bodies of soldiers.
They don't look much older than me.
At night we hear the foot steps of soldiers sneaking up on us.
The souls of their shoes squeak as they come.
The constant sound of the guns,
as they rage through the night.
Snipers running all around,
hiding in the bushes as we go by.
Kill anyone of the other side,
as they come upon them.
Fear is always there,
soldiers' souls can't take much more,
it all happens so soon.
Praying that we will go home alive.
Soldiers trying to get a section eight,
because they can't stand this any more.
Thinking of the their friends,
forced to be soldiers.
Wondering if they are still alive.
Then I ask the most important questions of all,
how can peace come with so much bloodshed?
Then why do we teach our children that you must fight for peace with
bloodshed?
This war is unwanted,
it is said to bring peace,
but all it causes is bloodshed.
Bloodshed not peace.
War is no peace.
This is only an unwanted war,
which causes bloodshed and death,
causing their loved one to cry.
This is truly an unwanted war.
UNWANTED!!
