Rekindle

by Gerard Kurt   Apr 11, 2007

I seek the fire that burned before
That heat that thawed the frost within
I hope to hear those songs once more
That seemed from heaven did begin.

Let this world echo of love and passion
Fill the air with your voice once more
Sing until the blue sky turns to crimson
With songs the crowd love and adore.

All glories are the fruit of pain
Like Christ that toiled by cross and thorn
By sweat and blood the prize is gained
Till wreaths of gold our heads adorn.

The phoenix rises from the ashes
Not from gemmed nor golden vessels
Freedom is gained through sacrifices
Behind torment, true glory nestles.
