The Heart Less Traveled

by Daniel Johnson   Apr 11, 2007

They say the path to take

Is the one less traveled

To make your own way

Down a life that is shadowed

The lessons you learn

The memories you keep

Are from hearts that you touch

And the souls that you meet

The life that you live

The love that you make

Should come from inside

The heart less traveled

One day in your life

Spent looking for love

Is one day wasted

For love will find you

Try as you might

To find a heart that is pure

None will live up

To an impossible search

Think not with your head

See not with your eyes

Listen with your heart

The heart less traveled

Every day that you live

Is a gift to be treasured

Every heart that you find

Should be handled with care

For you never know which

You never know when

The heart one day you find

Will be the heart you should keep

Life is what you make it

Love is what makes you

You have but one path to take

So take the heart less traveled
