If I Had My Own Way

by Jenni Marie   Apr 11, 2007

If I had my own way
This world would be a different place
No one would cry silent painful tears
Everyone would have a smile upon their face.

If I had my own way
People who commit crimes
Wouldn't be out of jail
Way before their time.

If I had my own way
No more names would be called
And the people who need real help
Wouldn't be left to silently fall.

If I had my own way
There would be no wars or fights
No one would have trouble
Distinguishing wrong from right.

If I had my own way
In peace and harmony we'd live
Instead of always taking
People would selflessly give.

If I had my own way
Everyone would laugh each day
Isn't it such a pity
I'll never get my own way?

Why does it have to be like that? We should have our own way, and if you get it first. I'm sure it will be a great place.

Alas, it seems we never get our own way, it's everyone else who seems to get it.
However, if i start thinking that now, will it mean you get your way and these things will take place.
    Only time will tell ;)
    A very meaningful piece
