Night & Day

by Jodie Macphaden   Apr 11, 2007

He strides gallantly over the mountains east
He lets out a wakening yawn
His roar of anger swaths the air
He blankets the clouds with dawn
His stature refined the artful warrior
His hair of Hazel Gold
His armour of the finest weld
His voice of lightening bolts.
He mounts his chariot of swirling fire
His breath of fiery rage
Pegasus agrees to draw him forth
Across the skies through age
His eyes are blazing blood of Fire
For Darkness he has seen
With the speed of Pegasus and trails of light
He searches for his Queen
Footsteps of dark and shadowy mist
Lingers, she happily weeps
He reaches to grasp her as she fades away
At dawn she is taken by sleep.

Her hair shines as a midnight waterfall
Her eyes of sparkling blue
Her elegance of ebony as balletic grace
Her lips are filmed with dew.
She smiles the moonlight a saddened glow
Her soul whimpering with cold
Her skin so pure as white as the snow
For her, ‘Where art thou Romeo? ’
She wails long in the howling wind
Of her love for the fiery King
The creatures of midnight gather around her
To hear her sadly sing
A song to the King of bringing Light
Her voice a melodious tune
Calming the souls with peaceful whispers
Bringing a full moon
Her tears of sorrow turn to stars
And splay across the sky
Her solitude succumbed the open air
The wilderness heard her cries
Her yearning for the King pulsed through the night
Dispersed the land like musk
So close to touch her King of Light
Then sleep took him at dusk

A curse was placed on the young lovers
The jealous one spurned their love
He cursed of them they could not touch
He cast them from above
Banished was the King, who boiled in rage
Became the bringer of light
And beautiful was she, who is the Queen
Became the bringer of night
Lucifer the King and Lilith the Queen
Cursed never to touch
With anger and sadness to defeat the hex
From a brother who envied their love.
