Thereâ??s that girl

by Calli   Apr 11, 2007

There’s that girl
Look at her smile,
I love it when she’s happy
Though she hasn’t been in a while.

Lately she just sits there
By herself and all alone,
The goes home after school
And calls the kids help phone.

Telling the operator
That she’s close to committing suicide,
And that she’ll feel better when she’s dead
Because she’ll no longer have to hide.

Hiding slits and hiding tears
And hiding many other things,
Wishing she could leave
But staying there with broken wings.

She explained to the operator
That her life used to be swell,
She used to laugh and smile
Though now you’d never tell.

The conversation kept going
the operator tried to help her change her mind,
she told her she was going to be okay
but it may just take some time.

So the girl said I’ll call tomorrow
To let you know what I choose,
Maybe I’ll stay a little bit longer
Even though I’m just so blue.

The operator waited
Until she said her goodbye line,
“good bye, and maybe tonight I’ll dream
that my life is happy and fine.”

And now I see this girl at school
With a smile on her face,
Now I know she realizes
She’s perfect for this place.
