Caged

by Vanessa   Apr 12, 2007

Caged like an animal behind steel bars
stands a young man who holds a lot of scars.
His unseen tears steam down his face
he wonders if he is forgotten in this place.
His letters go unanswered, just like his prayers
he begins to wonder if anyone cares.
Dealing with this isolation before
he is sore
and wants to just go home
tired of being alone
But alas he wears shackles and chains
this is were he is to remain
until they decide it is time to go free
trapped in his misery
He is no stranger being in a cell
for years he lived in his own private hell
Passed from foster home to foster home
He is used to being quite alone
He thinks whats the use
remembering the years of abuse
that he had suffered for no reason at all
So he lets himself fall
just a little ways from grace
trapped in a horrid place
His fears crept inside his soul
so dark and dead
No one would know
He let the razor slide against his skin
trying to free the demons within
He prays to Lord for the strength he needs
to strongly believe
that he has not be left to die
He wonders why
it has to be this way
How do you tell him it will be OK

Your poems are more than just words and rythum they are small stories, you are a amazing writter. all addicts are prisioers of addiction. even if your friend was free if he
still uses then he will always be in jail. a jail without bars is still a jail. a brain is a hell of a thing to waste. help him find a way to rit him of his demons and he will be freed. cy
