I Am the Night, So Colour Me Black

by Cooper   Apr 12, 2007

Thy heart is the night,
so emblazon me with shades of black.
Crucify the darker side of delight,
fraud promises encrypted on a transparent plaque.

Severed veins are uncut,
with my fingernails stapled shut,
but still feel them grind the poison deep.
Truth suffocated by your tears,
the crimson rain that stings like spears.

Feed me the feathers of crows,
quenching the thirst of temptation.
Count the black sheep, now, while time slows;
ressurect the memories of my dedication.

For thy eyes, and ears and tongue, are the night,
so let me see, and hear and taste, nothing but black.
But not white, the blank and worthless light,
quivering lips caress the shadows; an erotic attack.

Opalescent; fall the shards of skin,
from the razors your kisses became.
Unstrung and splintered,
the midnight, moonlight, violin;
Love is now but a colourless flame.

Cobwebs decay upon the face
of late and early visions.
No Devil or God can replace,
the slight paradise, barren by your disgraceful decisions.
Now live lies in a darkness so bright,
it colours everything black.
Now we are nothing, forever, but the night,
because the dead never come back...
