If Winter Ends

by Kim   Apr 12, 2007

If winter ends the ice will break
Freezing water seeping through
Much like your heart will shatter
When I have to leave you

If winter ends the snow will thaw
Leaving the world a muddy brown
As will your life become
When I'm no longer around

If winter ends the birds return
A desire for only to mate
Yet I will not be there for you
It will be much too late

If winter ends so does beauty
I'll have lost much more than a friend
But then my freezing tears will fall
Creating winter once again

    I LOVED this...
The first stanza was such a beautiful opening, and from there on it just kept getting better.
The imagery creates vivid pictures and the flow is good throughout.
I liked the repetition, I thought it helped get the point across very well, and those last two lines hit me hard, they have such impact...
    Beautiful work.
