I Felt You.

by Weeping Wolf   Apr 13, 2007

I Felt You.

You came back for me.
I always knew, you would come back...for me.

A shiver
like never before
flies through my body
consuming all of me
like a tide pool
a waterfall of freezing water
swirling over all of my skin
liquid behind my eyes,
to which i cannot stop the flow
growing bigger, stronger
till the tear bubbles burst
down my cheeks, rushing down
soaking...soaking...all of me...

Because.
Because I felt you.
You were there,
for only a moment, just a moment
that is all i need.
To prove, Truth.
never enough.
misty spirit collide through me
And all of time, all of breath, stops.
Stops.
And I feel you.
silent and frozen in mid-life, mid-fall
one quiet tear, slowly, slowly, slips down.
And i remember,
your no longer there to wipe it away.
Everything. Stopped. Stunned.
I. Felt. You.
Then-stillness. Then-my name.
You softly, desperately, loving, call my name
You. called my name.
And, i swear, i could almost hear you.

The world- continues.
Another gasp, now weeping.
Falling, so fast, so hard, so terribly
To my knees.
Unable now to keep up, Time
was still for so long a moment
that even the thought of a moment
Before-
seemed only to be a dream, No
you could not have been there.
Dead.
You are Dead.

I miss...
I miss your smile,
I miss your laughter,
I miss talking to you,
I miss your touch,
I miss...
I miss you.
Just. You.

But i know that,
You were there.
Because.
Because I felt you.

[You...came back. I knew. You will always come back.]

This piece truly did send shivers down my spine. Engaging from the first line, it is written with honesty and passion which I do not often feel with other work.
In a league of it's own.
