Pieces

by Celinda   Apr 13, 2007

It's easier to hurt someone then to make them happy
Easier to fall from grace then to return to it. Maybe you're better off this way, better off without me. Better to pretend to love then to realize there was no love at all. Keep your illusions, because I have my own and with that, disappointment overwhelms what used to be, what could've been.
But's lets stray from this old sad story. Because even the counterparts are underestimated in vain, or perhaps shorthanded and blinded by what you've fooled yourself to believe is love.
And if that be your perspective tear up the pieces, tear up the part of the soul I had given to you. I still have a million others to give away, or if I were to be precise, I have 999, 999 pieces left. But I digress, I deserve better in my memory and you deserve to hand me a piece of your soul in return. If you walk away with a part of me then I want to walk away with a piece of you. What's the worst we could encounter?
It's only a piece of our soul and if it is so easily strewn and lost, couldn't it be easier to give it away, knowing it's fate? So if you will...your soul, please.

Pretty piece of poetry/prose. I'm not sure which it is, but it seems like a rhyming poem in a paragraph. I liked your word use, and i can tell that you wrote this from your heart. Great write dear, Keep on penning!

BTW: "what could've been." Should be "and what could've been."
