Anyone but You

by Viola   Apr 13, 2007

How will you ever survive amongst the many glares?
The putdown, the hateful words
The laughter, the stares
The pain that builds inside you
When the world can't seem to see
The terrible secrets hidden inside you
The person you really want to be
But you're held down by your feelings
As you try hard to blend in
Try to be somebody else
Attempt to be one of them
But you just could never be the same
And they judge you everyday
Like they know you in every way
But none of them understand your pain
Because none of them wear your chains
So what right do they have to judge you?
When they don't even know how it feels
But you're so let down by them
That you hide all your tears
And everyday you put on that fake smile
Some make up and pretty clothes too
And go out into the world
As anyone but you
You hide who you are
You hide all your fears
You pray it all disappears
With a simple smile it might go away
This is what you pray
As you walk into the cold harsh world
Each and every single day...
