A Soldier

by x Mo x   Apr 14, 2007

There goes our hero
So brave and bold.
He steps from his home
Into the cold.

Fear eats at his soul
As he leaves the life he knew,
But faith pulls him up
To do what he needs to do.

To stare at danger
Square in the eyes.
Praying to live
While he deeply sighs.

Our soldiers fight
For loved ones here.
They are the ones
Who eliminate fear.

They willingly struggle
So I can stay free.
They defend our homes
In this great country.

With love and hope
I pray for you.
To give you strength
In all you do.

Note: I wrote this to send overseas to the soldiers out in Iraq.

It was good but it had nothing to do with independence day itself.
