I'm Tired...

by Debbie   Apr 15, 2007

I'm sick; I need a cure.
I looked everywhere, sight obscured.
Sounds and rhythm muffled,
hardly breathing as I swallowed.

I glanced at her; then at you.
Both looked happy, didn't you?
Smiles and laughs resonated
into ears, as I nearly fainted.

Hand in hand you joyously sang;
A familiar melody rang.
It's the tune, yes; it's the tune
we used to sing every high noon.

I'm sick; I need a cure.
I looked everywhere, sight obscured.
Images brought tears in my eyes
Tears slipping as I silently cried.

Standing stiffly when rain poured,
I struggled as the pain roared.
Recollected an intangible refrain,
Sensible thoughts hardly regained.

As one can no longer mesmerize,
and gaze deeply in the eyes
Once again; I realize
I'm tired.

I'm so tired...
