Why Do We Stare Into The Fire?

by RainbowSlider   Apr 15, 2007

Why do we all stare into the fire?
Is it because of a hidden desire?
Do we wish to get burned, again?
Did we not learn the last time, friend?

Why would we want to get burned?
Did we forget what we learned?
Glorious fire burning so free.
You alone are my company.

A flicker from spark gone sour.
You lighten my world this hour.
Embers of hope crackling bright.
I look to you for a guiding light.

I am attracted by your heat.
I dance in a circle at your feet.
Burn that which is impure out.
Sear my mind clear and stout.

Take away the fear you possess.
As your flames I lovingly caress.
You are pure of vision and inspire.
Cleanse me now in your fire.
