Its Been A While

Its been a while since I've done this
Been a while since I had a hand to hold
So forgive me if I seem bitter -if my touch is cold
I'm used to falling hard
And scraping my knees along the way
Its been a while since someone has caught me
Since someone has chosen to stay
Never-the-less I'll give you all I have
Offer you my remains
But the amount is ever so slight
Due to these aches and pains
So if along the way
I get lost or make mistakes
Try your best to forgive me
However long that takes
There is a heart inside me
Ready to give it all
But it so hard when every time I reach out
I stumble-I fall
