Out of the Warmth of Our Pollution

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Apr 15, 2007

The trees are the homes of the birds and the bees
While we're the homes of the fungi and disease
The birds sing their songs and the bees make their honey
While all we do is reproduce like a bunny
The birds have their nests and the bees have their hives
While we're living in our homes trying to do something with our lives
The bees have their jobs making honey
We have jobs making money
We like to buy things that we don't need
We like to keep things like we're the definition of greed
Some of us are good and some of us are bad
The number that are good is really quite sad
We cut down the homes of the birds and the bees
We waste our paper made of trees
We like to not recycle and instead crumble and shoot
A lot of us don't use the trash can as a basket ball hoop
In stead they just like to open their window and pollute
We like to go to church and we like to pray to god
Let's pray for some awareness we need some people to nod
We need them to say yes and know what they're doing is wrong
It's O.K. to use your resources but we've been wasting for too long
We like to ignore global warming and say that it's not true
Well they haven't done their research have you?
They need to listen to science
And look for all the clues
While the heats going up
The ice is going down
In a few years a lot of people are going to drown
The oceans will get high and some people are going
to die
The temp is causing hurricanes
The temp is causing strokes
The temp can do a lot of things
But people like to poke
at people and say that they are wrong
Why are you so stubborn why do you
even care
Why can't you see what is already there
You believe in god which you can't even see
Yet the waters going up and you don't even believe
Accept what is happening and that it needs to stop
In fifty years from now the temperature won't drop
The water will come up and our children will go down
I never thought I'd have to worry about my kids and that they could drown
It's O.K. if you don't believe I really do not care
I just want you to see what information is there
You do agree that pollution is bad
And you must agree that hurricanes are sad
Know that you can do some good if cars didn't run on gas
If you change one thing then you'll feel better about yourself at mass
You know that hurricanes have to do with water getting hotter
Just know it would be better off if the hurricane didn't kill your daughter
America needs a little more help than others
We think we're doing fine but let's look at our brothers
France had an awareness meeting but Bush didn't even go
He avoided it like he didn't want to know
We're the fat country and we're also rich
I hope we know that in the future global warming is going to be a b****
We need to have our science classes teach a little more
My chemistry class did no one seemed to be bored
If this keeps up for fifty more years you'll just have to wait
By the time it happens it will be too late
