Simply A Kiss

by Jennifer Lyn   Apr 16, 2007

Confusion, desire, tears and trust
is this the equation for true love?
you found me when I least expected it, wasn't ready
and lived in fear. We were so young, how could it be real?
Desire you I did, but my mouth never spoke the words my heart cried out. You floated in on a spring breeze and out when the weather turned warm. Lost was my the love, my heart torn.
December echos of broken hearts, I never knew that by walking away, I was headed strait to you. I had given up, lost and broken, sure that love was just a token, a thimble, an acorn nothing more.
Snow falling all around yet somewhere deep inside, a voice started calling, crying out in the night.
I found you in Decembers wake, hoping that my heart could take but one chance more if just to break.
In my heart you have always been, I gave you that so long ago, I've never denied it, but I have tried to let go. I've failed to forget you, failed to tell you, failed to hold you, yet failed to let you go.
The time apart has taught me this, love is not a thimble, or an acorn it is simply a kiss. Kisses don't lie, and your first true love never dies.
