The Storm

by Nearly but not quite   Apr 16, 2007

So high up
Safe and warm
Safe from the storm
And the pouring rain.

The lightning flashes
A world so bright
A world full of fright
Fear of the storm.

But how could a storm
A thing so great
Create this state
Of total terror

I watch the storm
The boiling sea
Struggling to break free
Of the wind's grip

Another flash
Turns white the sky
And birds daren't fly
In that harsh beauty

As I watch
Thrills run through me
And I sing to the boiling sea
And the tossing boats.
