My Angel

by Lonesomeme   Apr 16, 2007

I was in the dark
You were my light
I was once lost
But I was found
By a kind heart
Gentle smile

An angel like no other
Barreling down to earth
Saving me from the mundane
Showing me
What I could only have dreamt

Without that angel
Today, I would be nothing
No more than a lost soul
Wandering in and out
Of the light that now flows
Through my heart, my mind
When ever I think of that angel

I am taken to a place so fond
Memories that will last a life time
A bond that can never tarnish
A love that will never waiver
A passion for the rest of this life
Where ever it takes me

I have the strength
To overcome obstacles
To wake-up every morning
And want to see her
Smashed face into the pillow
Her beautiful eyes
Beaming brighter and more intense
Than a thousand suns
On a dreary summers day

She alone
Has made me realize
What a true angel is
And how happy
I could truly be

I thank god for my angel
For the sweetest thing
That I have ever tasted
Even if only for a moment
With my last breath
I would use it to tell her
How much of an angel
She is to me
