Secrets

As I look around the classroom
I take notice of your absence
and my heart breaks because I didn't see you today
Late at night
my phone rings
looking at my caller ID
my heart sings
its you
you talk of your love for her
and problems your relationship faces
I don't really care
silent tears start to fall from my naked hazel eyes as i listen to random songs playing from my mp3
and the sound of your voice
you hear the song we once called our own
coming from my end of the phone
and you begin to sing with it
to end the awkward silence
then we talk of what we had
and how happy we were together
and what we would give
to have that love once more
and as we say our good nights
and whisper "I love you"
after we hang up
that razor looks friendlier to my arm and thighs
then as the blood forms beads of crimson red on the cuts
lyrics from Aerosmiths "don't wanna miss a thing"
sings from a foot away
I answer
tears still falling
theres something you forgot to say
you cant stop thinking about me
and you love me
i laugh at this
thinking its a joke
and tell you how funny you are
then you tell me why you made your own scars because you thought
I didn't care
and how close you came to suicide
until i called to talk about the most random things
