Hearth

by Patrick   Apr 16, 2007

Upon rivers revealing steam stridden waters within Suns rays of warmth,
Within winters fiery chill, alluring coldness through its devious cycle,
Tempting fire to burn deep through its depth,
Mocking merrily, for it shall rise once more, year after year,
Hearth has its beginnings within these borders,
The finest architecture, piece by piece placed in order,
Massive stones built upon the soil to strengthen a wooden fortress,
Glass windows blown from the strand,
Thrust sunlight inside a hearth, boasting its land,
Traditional home and nature deem themselves separate,
Yet, in my subtle blindness I must protest,
Hasnt the same beauty which has molded thou noblest home,
Teeming with wood, stone, sand, and glory,
Created natures soil, trees, rivers, revealing its story?
