House of Wolves

by Twisted Heart   Apr 17, 2007

The idle night beckons thee to the dark stone
To howl at the stars and to grieve there alone
Humble red blood from the depths of a wound
Tears at thy soul as thee flees from the moon.

Inside the dark shadows thy enemy waits
With daggers and gauntlets the demons to break
But the wolves will forever howl from within
The house that is tortured by blood thirsty grins.

No pardon is offered the steps have been made
By Satan's dark angels that wait at the gate
From deep in the bowels of the night comes the cry
Of the innocent victims that were taken from sight.

Out from the shadows, the sheaths of the swords
Come for to batter and beat at the doors
Dark angels screech from the slash of the knife
As droplets of blood fall dark in the night.

The torture of souls that were silenced by death
As the wolves gathered round to take their last breath
Lies empty inside the stone walls of doom
That clutter then scatter debris from the room.

No sound comes to thunder from up on the hill
No silence is broken by blood thirsty shrills
As deep in the night the shadows abate
Sealing the house of the wolves with their fate.

Very well written dark piece full of scary and moving images....love the whole wolves, blood and angels theme...love these lines:

From deep in the bowels of the night comes the cry
Of the innocent victims that were taken from sight.

and also these lines...my favorite I think

The torture of souls that were silenced by death
As the wolves gathered round to take their last breath

From beginning to end...absolutely fabulous! 5/5 Debbie

Wow. Your imagery was awesome as well as your word choices.
