The jigsaw poem

by scott mcbride   Apr 17, 2007

So many colors,

scattered randomly,

match one to the others,

much too redundantly,

& you, spread them out on the floor,

& you, keep staring at the picture,

cant seem to find the right anymore,

cant sort through the mixture,

How can i fix it?

how did i break it so bad?

plain to see, these pieces used to fit,

puzzle then broke, now i am so sad,

For a puzzle it sure is hard,

from my current perspective i doubt i can rebuilt,

my puzzle then seems i must discard,

my puzzle, it still keeps me fulfilled.

This poem sounds like its about a jigsaw puzzle but it has a deeper meaning.the first letters of each line spell ssmm&&cchhppffmm,
i wrote it like that so it says "scott mcbride & chelsea hays please forgive me" its doubled as if i was asking her and it echos in her head,or as if she was repeating after me.
the first stanza is talking about how hard it is to find a relationship.
the second is talking about getting to know a person as if examining puzzle pieces.
the third talks about my relation ship with her and asking how i can put it back together.
the last stanza discusses how i dont know if i can put our puzzle back together, but its so special to me i cant just get rid of it.
