I Wish That...

I wish that this world would be safe from harm
I wish people wouldn't second guess when we lend a helping arm

I wish that boy in Virginia didn't have a gun
I wish those poor kids weren't at the end of their run

I wish people didn't judge each other based on their color
I wish people treated others equally, discrimination wasn't even a factor

I wish that drugs, murder and suicide was something of the past
I wish that the news spoke of generations and memories that last

I wish women didn't say that jobs are restricted for men
I wish women stepped up and proved that they can

I wish that healthcare was offered equally to the needy
I wish that people didn't suffer because they weren't wealthy

I wish that early education didn't always focus on a textbook basis
I wish that students had a chance to face real world cases

I wish that my kids learn from all my mistakes
I wish they realize I've done everything for their sakes

I wish that I don't fail the one I truly love
I wish there was an angel guiding my way from above.
