A new role

Tears fall down my face
something i cannot control
the person that i love
has chosen a different role.
he found himself someone new
to fill the space in his heart
i asked him why he did it
he replied he needed to play a new part.
he no longer loves me
his promise he did not keep
another person to love me
is who i now seek.
i loved him more than life itself
and would have given it all away
if only he knew what he was missing
if only he would have stayed.
i hope he is happy
with the choices he has made
because i know deep down
i'll be fine with the role i once played.
