Grandmother's Pearls.

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Apr 18, 2007

Grandmother's pearls, they never fit just right,
And that antique white dress wasn't exactly tight,
But those old stilettos, falling off of my little feet,
Are what made my young starlet outfit complete.

Standing in front of her old mirror in the attic,
I would act out lines to myself, so dramatic,
With a smile on my face and a twinkle in my eye,
The night would come and I'd turn in with a sigh.

For I knew, there were thousands of other girls,
Just a beautiful little fool like me in this big world,
Holding all of their hopes up to the broken sky,
But I wasn't worrying about them and I knew why -

For if I dreamed the hardest, in my naive heart I knew,
That it was my dream that would be the first to come true.

This was an amazing poem. Especially the last two stanzas; loved them.

I remember when I was a little girl..Everything was perfect, I only worried about what I would be when I grew up. Lol. This poem brings back memories, and is easily related to.. Which I love.
And, I liked how you explained the outfit the way you did, wonderful job.
