Ganesha Bathes

by Arunansu   Apr 18, 2007

Christened Ganesha
an age old tusker
having years folded in his wrinkles
snorkels gaily in a lagoon,
as he sprays
plays and sprinkles
in a stifling mid day afternoon.

Water gushes
through his projected nose
rushes-
from the tubular hose
slithers down,
down the great orb
as if lustrating
his dear globe
purifying
his very being.

After the long rollicking hour,
ascending effortfully
from his bath
he takes the habituated path,
with the sun glistening
and droplets lessening
from his bulk,
parading like a moving marvel
a sodden sculpture
in ebony marble.

He leaves.

    A beautiful pachyderm poem.
The imagery in this was beautiful. You have done an amazing job with it. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
