on a cold snowy morning, outrage burst
to witness such tragedy, of a mad mans thirst
left behind him a trail of wreck
of innocent lives at Virgina Tech
no one knew that death was near
till the sound of gunfire filled the air
screams of fear as they ran for cover
from the twisted mind of a rejected lover
he loaded his gun, and left a note
expressing his anger in what he wrote
he went to her dorm with the devil in his eyes
and when he left two bodies had died
the police appeared and surrounded the dorm
with their weapons cocked they were ready to storm
protect and serve is the golden rule
especially the sanctuary our children's school
but time has lapsed as the shooter made tracks
to the hall he went, his final act
bolted the door so no one goes free
then opened fire as the kids tried to flee
the innocent lives such tragedy
will angrily be missed by friends and families
as the cries are heard all over the world
of the death of so many young boys and girls
we mourn as one as candles are burned
a minute silence from the hearts of those yearned
its not just one country who is angry and wild
but a world full of parents who have all lost a child
is this not a lesson to lay down your arms?
and live in a society filled with peace and no harm
why must those live in a world to destroy
when life is best lived filled with abundant joy
To those who attend Virginia Tech
remember life is not always a mess
strive for your goals,do your best
in respect to those "laid to rest"
