Unforgivable

by Rhys   Apr 18, 2007

Keep it simple
Keep it true.
Keep that darkness inside of you.

My hand reached out to save you
I remember it so clear.
You took it so gratefully
And I had no more fear.

I know I failed to keep you safe,
I know I broke that promise.
Now every time I look at you
Your eyes are filled with malice.

Why can't you let your anger go,
Why can you not forgive?
Instead of seeing failure in me
Why can't you just forgive?

I wish only good for you,
Though that you cannot see,
You are too blinded by your hate
To see any good in me.

I guess for now I'll let them go,
The memories so dear.
There's nothing more than I can do,
this is what I feared.

Apologies uncountable I have given to you,
Evidence of heavy disdain
I your eyes, I know it's true.
