Crawling

by CherokeeW   Apr 19, 2007

I'm down now, I feel the weight,
There is darkness, Is no escape,
I see the light and I crawl in pain,
But the light doesn't change,
I reach out with hope and dread,
There's nothing there, I should be dead,
Each step I wince in pain,
No one's there, Nothing gained,
Tears stream down my blood stained cheeks,
The pain increasing week by week,
I reach out just once more,
And another reaches out towards me,
I smile slightly and close my eyes,
I'm finally in heaven, It's been a long ride...
