Pink Brush

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Apr 20, 2007

Sitting in an old dusty attic room, she looks outside,
Wondering why her Mother takes her there to hide,
She can hear the laughter traveling up through the floors,
And tears fall down as she pulls at the lock on the door.

Her blue eyes are clouded with questions as she cries,
Looking at a reflection in a mirror, a beautiful little lie,
And from the corner of her eye she sets her sights,
On a pink painting brush that will get her through the night.

She finds herself a place to sit in the corner all alone,
As she paints a room that no one's ever known,
And in the middle, under the sun's bright shining rays,
She paints a little girl, smiling for the first time in days.

And in the background, there's a mirrored reflection,
Of an angel standing strong with eyes on perfection -
But when she looks close she sees that it is her,
And not even her pink brush could save her from this world.

This is so beaautiful! it is really sad a touch and has such depth and meaning behind the words. the feel and atmosphere it creates is of immense sympathy and sadness, which i think is what you're trying to portray. a beautifully written, incredibly moving piece. xXx

Yes I did not understand it until the bottom. BUT! I could really see the girls pain and how she looks to the sun. It is a magnificent sight, but horrible because she is alone with the sun and nothing else.
