Rebelious Slumbers & Dreamland Wonders

by Lonesomeme   Apr 20, 2007

My eyes fall
My mind slips
How do I stay awake
What reasons do I have to not submit to this urge

I'm deprived of fantasy
A place that needs ME
A figure of veneration
Here to infuse the people with the spirit of life

Im dying in reality
Smiles are an old friend my face once knew
An image that defined me
But no longer exists

To sleep is to dream
To dream is to breathe
Fake air that never felt so flush with life

Work, school, family, friends
Constructing a wall of insanity
To hide behind
Trapping me with conformity

Close my eyes
Close my mind
Satisfy my need for eternal night

    The title was -- wow.
Really captured me & made me [want] to read this poem.

But sadly the poem did not have the same effect. Your structure could be improved.
It seems forced in a few places. I think you could improve this but it still wasn't too bad.
