A Lost Lullaby

by elli_unleashed   Apr 20, 2007

Why, so soon, did you decide to depart?
When heaven wasn't ready and neither was I.
The sky shone black and the waters dark,
As bleak as my love and untold good-bye.
Hardships will come to pass, all of which will be ignored,
Their presence unknown in the midst of the storm.
Shadowed is the life that gazes upon my tears,
Who will be there to drive away the fears so forlorn?
Life appears more like a prison that a heaven,
For life took your breath away as much as yourself.
Love, emptiness, hurt, and even God couldn't express the lost emotions,
The emptiness that consumes me and the love that only exists between you and myself.
No longer does the meaning in life seem pointless,
More than ever, life states its boundaries and its limits.
My only prayers lie within your wandering soul,
Reminding me of a life half spent...

In loving memory of Daniel Michael Yager, my dad
