Truth's behind her lies

by My tormented little heart   Apr 21, 2007

She says it doesn't hurt enough to even make her cry
But the pain she has is bad enough that her dreams have died
She says she's not unhappy and even manages to smile
As she whispers in my ear "it will only hurt a while"

She says she has so much freedom and time on her hands
Many obligations and so many crazy plans
She brings up the strength to show me all of her old scars
And recognized situations where she had gone to far

But no one really knows how she's survived
So she tells me everything that she feels inside
I witnessed stories that came from her heart
As truths and lies are finally torn apart

Pain is so unbearable and she barely survives the day
It doesn't hurt anymore as she slits her memories away
She doesn't feel unhappy, because inside there is nothing
It only hurts a while because she kills it with her cutting

And she has so much freedom because she spends her time alone
She's obligated with killing the pain, and plans on dying on her own
Old scars she'll show but with new ones she's too ashamed
And for every mistake in her life she admittedly takes the blame
