The Kindness Of My Stranger

by abracadabra   Apr 21, 2007

Strike up the orchestra, my friend,
We shall have a waltz tonight,
Let me take the lead, so then
You step back left while I step right.

Yes, that is a gauzy moon,
It is quite suited to romance,
It will withdraw its silver soon,
So simply focus on this dance.

My steps are swiftly getting faster,
Please do try to match my pace,
You should not find it hard to master,
Look at my feet and not my face.

Our earnest boots go drum drum drumming,
The wailing strings are now inert,
The witnesses are now succumbing,
Beaten into the tepid dirt.

Encasing us, the darkness bleeds,
Silence is seething from its bones,
These bones now know their hollow deeds,
Shadows reveal their coreless tones.

Here, we peak as we pass by,
Spinning through this chilly state,
Where rainbows fall straight off the sky,
Where nothing lone is ever straight.

Faster, panting, round and round,
I swing you to, I swing you fro,
There in our blindness so profound,
Your hand tightens as I let go.

You spiral through the still with ease,
You scream, though you cannot sense danger,
And I stand watching with the breeze,
Thanks for the dance, my stupid stranger.
