Faith is a girl I know

by HopefulxRomantic   Apr 21, 2007

Faith is a girl I know,
She was always there in my times of troubles,
Even when we hadn't spoken in an age.
She had the most fantastic stories to tell,
Of which the morals spoke true to my heart,
But everyone condemned them,
They concentrated on the little factors.

We connected so well,
I used to go to her house once a week,
But her family made me feel so guilty,
I couldn't live up to their expectations.
But Faith wasn't worried that I let her down.
She introduced me to Courage,
And Willpower, Strength and Doubt.

I haven't seen her recently,
Not since I learned about Society,
I think he and Corruption led her astray,
I hope she's alright.
Despite how important she was in my life,
I can't help wondering,
If she really existed at all.

Faith was a girl I knew,
But I'm sure she's still out there,
And I'm sure she's alive and well,
And I'll keep believing that,
Until she comes back into my life.
When I think about her hard enough,
I can hear her voice in the wind.

This poem is very interesting for the fact that it feel like you are hearing someone's story. It is very well made to be from a lost-faith person. Congratz.

I don't know what to say... What can I say? My mom and I each printed this on a picture/ colored paper, laminated it, framed it, and hung it up! We love it. It's so....'refreshing'. IDk What I mean but yeah.

A free verse poem I wrote one Saturday morning, when I woke up thinking about the faith that people have: in religion, other people and themselves. I made an attempt to personify this as a person, and narrated by someone who has lost and is regaining faith.
