What Can I Be?

What will you be?
Is a question I was always asked
You could be anything
If you're up to the task.

You could be a teacher
A doctor, or a nurse
Remember to act appropriately
You wont be able to curse.

You could be a fire-fighter
Or even join the police force
But you will have to make sure
You're up for the course.

You could always be a vet
Or even an MP
Change so many lives
And set the innocents free.

Everytime this was mentioned
These 'wonderful' things said
Millions of confused thoughts
Silently ran through my head.

Now I've had some time to think
Answers are easy to see
The only thing I'll accept
Is just to be me.
