In my heart

by Athena Horn   Apr 21, 2007

Everyday the I walk by you
I pretend I do not know,
The thoughts in my own mind
That always come and go.

You walk into the room
And my hands begin to shake.
You glance into my eyes,
and it's more than I can take.

I silently walk past you
Staring at the floor.
I have to keep from looking,
But I'm finding I want more.

I pretend the tiles interest me,
But it's really you I'm after.
I need to get to know you
So I can share my laughter.

I feel my heart pounding,
Can I bear it much longer?
You look at me, I look down,
If only my brain would stop and ponder.

It does ponder,
It is you it thinks of, oh can’t you see,
I don’t want you with anyone else,
Anyone else but me.
