Orange Peel

The peel from an orange
Being shed from it's skin
Disappearing from life
A returning within

No longer protecting
It's wonderful fruit
Going into the garbage
As a new recruit

Taken off so easy
Yet never put back on
The peel believes this
Must be some sort of con

But the peel gets dropped
And meets with someone's heel...
"Hey! I thought you were supposed
To slip on banana peels!"

    Lovely ending, it really made me smile.
    Just goes to show that the banana peel is just a scapegoat!
    It's orange peel we should watch out for!
