Material Binger

by shelby   Apr 22, 2007

She lies awake in a room
afraid to leave her home
obsessing material things
has brought her to her doom
shes not able to paint her face
and be a shining star
she no longer represents high in brands
there distance has become far
she feels lonely still
without her repetitive friend
whom she applies every morning
thus, their friendship has come to end
she lacks her self confidence
that she spends 56 bucks a bottle
and her 25 dollar friend
that boosts her ego up full throttle
shes no longer who everyone loves
and knows all so well
this material binging girl
who wears this smile one wishes
she would sell
whose eyes blaze like fire at night
and cheeks as warm as the sun
with a nerve tingling laugh
and lips that shun
but she no longer wears a mask
that receives envy from strangers passing by
she's learned to cope
from her material binge
shes learned to live and thrive.

moral: do not let the material things of this world transform you.
-never a good thing has come out of an obsession-

(i feel its missing just a tiny bit of something, but i couldn't quite put it in to words yet, enjoy!)

I really liked this because ive been trying to write a poem like this myself.
