Red Hallways; Filthy Minds

by Chelsey   Apr 22, 2007

As mom sends me off to school
She smiles and waves goodbye
Little does she know
Theres a strong chance that I could die...

I like the guy that sits in front row
The guy who likes me is behind the teachers desk
I just about puke in my mouth
When he winks and stares at my chest

I've never told anyone this
He said, "Show me your body, I'll make sure you pass"
He always hits on his girl students
We're all scared to go to his class

That kid who sits in the corner
With literally a demonic spirit by his side
He puts some kind of spell on me
Theres been a few times I have cried

Lastly, that student whose in a gang
Carries a gun through the school doors
It sits in his empty locker
Which makes me not want to be here anymore

I've eves-dropped on conversations before
And heard of what people want to do
They've talked about killing people
What I speak to you is true

I don't want to be in school
It's not even safe at all
I honestly wouldn't be surprised
If blood ended up on school walls

There's a lack of parenting all over
No adult knows about these schools
That there is no security any more
And there are hardly any rules

All these filthy minds
Will cause our hallways to go red
And before anyone knows it
More children of this world will be dead

As mom sends me off to school
She smiles and waves goodbye
Little does she know
Theres a strong chance that I could die...

With everything going on in todays world it does make you scared to send your children to school. The children I am sure are just as scared to go. Very intense write Chelsey. Great job!

Chels! Omg, that is so scary. Especially because it is true for a lot of people. Schools in Canada are not quite that bad, but I have tons of friends in the US that fear for their lives everyday, and it's terrible, they can't learn that way!.. This was a really inspiring poem, it gives awareness to those that don't know what happens at school. Parents think their kids go their to learn, but there are so many things that happen behind those closed doors. Terrible how corrupted the school system is. Not only students too, like you pointed out. Beautiful poem Chels, you really are a great poet. Keep on writing from your heart. *Hugs* Love ya still :)
