Today...

The heart of someone close to me was broken today.
It was all my fault no matter what they say.

I had let him in before I was ready.
And I was the only one that knew we could not go steady.

My heart would not let him in as more than a friend.
So to him it was a message I had to send.

I told him how I felt.
How I was sure this deck could not be dealt.

I had to stop what was in front of me.
So I could finally see.

I needed to stop the pain that was following me day by day.
I am just so sad that, that day had to be today.
