Bittersweet Sin

by Brianna Breakkdown   Apr 23, 2007

Gray to brown,
Our hungry eyes meet.
Two hearts collide,
Suddenly complete.

Like fresh-woven silk,
Skin caresses skin.
Souls combine in ecstacy,
Our bittersweet sin.

With sensual tenderness,
Fingers intertwine,
Chills race down
A gently curving spine.

Nothing else exists
In this world we've created,
One of a love
That was far too belated.

Our own labored breaths
Are the only sounds in our ears.
A moment we've waited for
For nearly four years.

Lips brush against each other,
The tickle of the wings of a butterfly.
We wait to fall, for gravity to return,
As we hold on tight to each other in the sky.

Our moist skin shines in the light
That filters through the clouds from the moon.
The clock strikes twelve and we fall over the edge,
We hold onto one another as it becomes the thirtieth of June.

Your strong arms wrap around me and pull me close to you,
Our bodies still intertwined as one.
I whisper that I love you, and I truly can't wait
To continue this love that we've begun.

Gray to brown,
Our exhausted eyes meet.
Two hearts molded together,
Finally complete.

Like fresh-woven silk,
Voices caress listening ears.
The dream finally complete
After four waiting years.
