A Poem Called Love

A Poem Called Love

I do not love you as if you were a rose
to display and admire, then wither away
I love you as secret things are to be loved
kept silent; a mere glitter in the eyes.

I love you like a heart that never ages
no matter how beaten, for you it is free
stripping me of barriers and bitterness
laughter springs like fountains of youth

I love you without knowing why or possibly how
undetermined, unmeasured and unchangeable
A past that brings us ever closer to a future
I love you unconditionally, and uncontrollably.

I will love you this way because i can love you
in no other way than this: I just love you...
so much, that when I see the sun, I think of you.
so close, that your hand on my body, is my hand.
so greatly, that your eyes finding mine, are our eyes.
so delicate, that endless years could not change my heart.
so intimate, that when you breath in,
I feel the sweet air of life fill my lungs.

*By the way, happy birthday Shakespeare*

Reminds me of a Shakespeare or Neruda piece. It flows so well and is so very beautiful that I am not so distracted by all the fillers. Nice job!

I thought this was a great write and a powerful poem. The ease with which the stanzas transitioned into each other was brilliant. The flow seemed flawless and smooth and overall the poem was breath-taking.
