She Stays Where She Is Use To

by stefanie   Apr 23, 2007

Scared to face the world alone
She stays where she is use to.
She hardly moves, she barely talks
And just waits for the day to be through.

She'll smile and she'll laugh
Along with all the others,
But deep inside all she wants
Is just to crawl beneath the covers.

She's afraid to talk amongst them
For insecurity has taken its toll.
She's afraid to let anyone in
For her heart has one too many holes.

Not sure of what she looks at
An empty stare her face beholds.
She tries so hard to keep it together
As it painfully continues to unfold.

Buried inside her feelings she keeps
And continues to laugh and smile.
She holds inside what others don't know
Trying to work alongside with denial.

Fear follows her wherever she goes
Tormenting her at all sides.
She wants to give up but keeps on going
Yet still with so much that hides.
