Echoes Of The Crypt

What liquid salve does balm my soul
To render shattered promise whole?
This fog descends for evermore
As visions of my lost Lenore

Oh Death! Each sip supplies release
In drunken madness, welcome peace
Immortal whispers ever clear
Eternal slumber draws me near

In wretched solace go I there
As Raven's echoes pierce the air
"Nevermore", his cries confirm
From tomb's abyss is no return

What choice for me, a life alone?
Her quiet crypt my welcome home
Tainted bottle beckons nigh
Upon my lips a tortured sigh
