Rain

The rhythmic sound of raindrops
Soothes my soul
Calming me forever more.
Bouncing as they hit the ground,
They always make a plopping sound.
With a howling wind to help,
It might frighten you with a yelp!
Yet birds still chirp
There merry song
Leaving me simply spellbound
I thought i was the only one
Who enjoyed the rain
The only one, who saw it's true beauty
How ignorent of me
Was it to think such a thing.
Violent yet peaceful
Restless yet tame.
Call it dark, call it depressing
It''s soft, tragic ways.
Messing with us all,
You think only sunshine and light
Is the only cheerful weather.
With a clear blue sky
And flower patch.
To top it off.
But "gloomy" weather is just as fun
In it's own cunning way
Just misunderstood, I would say
As you laugh the night away.
It is my hope
Not sunshine, no.
It is cold but feeds the earth,
It is deemed a burden but is unique.
It weeps for the dead and broken
but leaves us refreshed to start anew.
You happy dwellers may shun it.
But I will forever more love the rain.
