Plastic Perfection

by annabel   Apr 23, 2007

She's been staring down the barrel of a loaded gun
catch a glimpse of her soul
life flickers before her
wash out the heartache and despair
don't try and toil with her heart
holding her breathe, she watches her reflection
without thinking she reaches for the glass
feeling the sharp edges as it breaks between her fingers
cutting her skin open, dripping metallic on her tongue
pale faced, blackened eyes
catching the taste on her blood red lips
a perfect sunny day could all turn to mud
as she cringes at the thought of leaving
lightening fills up the night
brightening up the sky
watching the blood fall from her arm
dizzy as the world goes by, she is confused
would running away solve her problems?
is this picture really as perfect as she thought it would be
her courage was lost, her heart-broken
tattered and torn, black clouds surronding
the changes are impossible to imagine
she lays back, closing her eyes
shutting that one last door
eyes sewn shut, she sleeps
silently
gently
forever.
